If you thought the trek to Everest
Base Camp is tough how about we add the Island Peak into it? Yes, Roving Nepal
Trek has an EBC trek attached to Island peak climbing which makes the journey
more fascinating.
The overall trek takes almost 3
weeks but you will be thrilled to receive the final result. Often called Imja
Tse, Island Peak has its challenges but expert guides from Roving Nepal Trek
will make the journey easier.
If you are a trekking enthusiast willing to know more about trekking at the toughest terrains stick till the end to know about the EBC trek with Island Peak.
Like every trek in Nepal the EBC
trek with Island Peak is best possible during the months of spring and autumn.
In this season there is clear and better weather with much more clarity to have
beautiful views.
September to November are the months
of autumn while March to May is when the spring falls through. Although you
will find plenty of trekkers along the route, trekking at this time is the
right decision to make.
To the readers interested yes, you
can do the trek even in winter and monsoon but the difficulty and risk of
completing the trek is very high. Uneven trails, slippery routes, and a foggy
atmosphere make it very hard to complete this 20-day journey.
Any trek that goes beyond 10 days is
termed to be difficult. But with the presence of experienced guides from Roving
Nepal Trek, the journey could be much more easier and affordable.
Although the views from Island Peak
and EBC are worth the climb it is hard. It doesn't matter whether you are a
beginner or an expert, you will have your set of challenges in the
journey.
The trail to Island Peak and Everest
Base Camp is simple. Meanwhile, you will have to own some technical skills to
make the journey safe. Roving Nepal Trek would also like to suggest better
acclimatization and not speeding up the overall journey.
The cost of the EBC trek along with
the Island peak climbing depends on various factors. Be it the comfort along
with the services and facilities the final cost outcome tends to be
different.
It is tough to predict the
actual cost. This particular trek almost runs through 3 weeks so better
accommodation, food, and safety are the topmost priority.
Along with this the cost also tends
to increase in relative to the season you trek. The facilities and care tend to
get higher during winter and monsoon season compared to the spring.
So spilling out the exact cost can
be very difficult. As Roving Nepal Trek has a customization feature for
interested trekkers, it is much better to contact Roving Nepal Trek.
You can even visit the Roving Nepal
Trek office in Nayabazaar and understand the overall trek, the difficulty along
the outcome with the experts from the agency.
One of the leading trekking agencies
in Nepal, Roving Nepal Trek does multiple EBC treks with Island Peak every
year. There are plenty of repeating tourists who come for the same trek due to
the experience.
At Roving Nepal Trek it isn't only
about the trekking and the result but also the experience that comes along with
it. Our reviews along with the past trekkers speak strongly for the
results.
However, some of the major benefits
of choosing Roving Nepal Trek as your next trekking partner for the EBC trek
with Island peak climbing are:
The second day is all about exploring
the beauty of Kathmandu Valley. We will be doing some final preparation for the
trek from buying the necessary items to packing. However, the remaining part of
the day is about visiting the UNESCO World Heritage sites and enjoying the
views.
After an early morning breakfast, we
will take a flight to Lukla which will be 35 minutes long. It is one of the
most breathtaking flights in the world. Trekkers will enjoy the views of peaks
like Langtang, Gaurishankar, Numbur, etc. Following the landing, we will trek
to Phakding for 4 hours and spend the night.
The
Roving Nepal Trek team will be moving closer to the Everest region. The journey
to Namche Bazaar is comfortable with beautiful Sagarmatha National Park on the
way. This route follows through Imja Khola taking us to Namche Bazaar. Trekkers
will enjoy the night at Namche Bazaar
When you perform a trek that goes
beyond 2 weeks acclimatization plays a leading role. On the 5th day, we will be
staying behind at Namche Bazaar. Trekkers will explore the Namche village and
also ascend to Khumjung which is a 3 hours walk. Late in the day, we visit the
Edmund Hillary school.
The team of Roving Nepal Trek starts
the day fairly early. A tough descent will lead us to Phunki Tenga as we pass
the Imja Khola. As we complete a trek of 6 hours we will reach Tengobche. At an
altitude of 3800m, you will have the option to view Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse,
and other mountains.
As we spent yesterday around the
Tengboche monastery the new day awaits with more than 6 hours of trek. Walking
through the beautiful rhodendron and pine forest you will feel beauty all
around you. Crossing Somare village with some stops on the way we reach
Pheriche as we climb a small hill in the end.
As the Roving Nepal Trek team steps
foot into the 4000m mark we have to adjust well. The 8th day of the trek is
about acclimatization at Pheriche. Trekkers will explore the Khumbu Valley and
also reach Nangkartshang. By the end of the day, we will be exploring the local
village and its people.
As
we spend a full day at Pheriche the feet don't stop. The next stop is Lobuche
and we have 5 hours of trek left for the day. As we touch towards the 5000m
mark, peaks like Cholatse and Taboche will be visible. As we walk through
Thokla Pass and a flat trail we will reach Lobuche by the end of the day
The 10th day of the trek is probably
one of the toughest days of the trek. Trekkers will have to trek for more than
9 hours and visit places. At first, we will reach Gorakshep after 2 hours of
trek. Slowly we will be trekking to EBC and later return to Gorakshep. All of
this will take place at an altitude of 5130m.
All of the Roving Nepal Trek team
will rise before the sun and make our journey towards Kalapatthar. One of the
most spectacular views will be available from Kalapatthar. After the early morning
walk, we will come back to Dingboche. A total of 9 hours will be the
trek.
As we have accommodated Island Peak
climb the journey moves towards Chhukung village. Through the South side of
Lhotse, we will reach Chhukung village in 3 hours. Following that we will be
climb-ready getting the gears and equipment.
Finally, the day has arrived when we
will be reaching the Island peak base camp. A total of 4 hours needs to be
separated to reach the Island peak base camp. It is at an altitude of 5200m so
a slow trek is advised. As we reach the base camp we plan for the actual climb
on the next day.
The maximum altitude for the overall
trek will be achieved today. After waking up early we will get all the gears
ready and climb to Island Peak. As we complete 3 hours of climb we reach the
final spot and the peak. It is at an altitude of 6160m so expect some altitude
sickness. The most beautiful views of Makalu, Cholatse, Lhotse, and others will
awe you. As we complete this trek we will head back to Chhukung village. The
day is tiring as we hike for 10 hours.
The weather in the mountains is
unpredictable. As a result of that, we have a reserve day. If the trekking
isn't possible on the 14th day we have a reserve day to make things easier. As
we complete the trek on the 14th day, it is a rest day for the Roving Nepal
Trek team.
Slowly we will be leaving the Island
peak region. As we complete the early morning breakfast, the journey moves away
from Chhukung village towards Dingboche. After spending 7 hours in total we
will be at Tengboche enjoying the company of the locals.
As the journey descends towards the
lower altitude we will mark the 17th day of a trip from Tengboche to Monjo. A
good early breakfast will embark on a journey that follows Sagarmatha National
Park. Going through the rich greenery and snow-capped mountains we reach Monjo
at an altitude of 2835m.
Slowly the journey will come to a
close as we trek for 5 hours to reach Lukla. It is an easy trek with clear
trails beautiful villages and pasture lands. As we reach Lukla we will spend
the night celebrating our successful trek.
Finally, we leave the Everest region
with a heavy heart. A flight from Lukla to Kathmandu will mark the end of the
trip. It is a 35-minute flight with the most scenic beauty. As we land in
Kathmandu, trekkers will rest in their hotels or stroll the city.
The final day of the trek marks
returning to the home nation. A member from the Roving Nepal Trek team will
drop the trekkers to the airport with a promise to meet again.
